Service

Mission & Purpose

Archbishop Williams students are “guided by the values of the Catholic Church” when they use their gifts and talents to serve those in need.

The Service Program exposes students to the joy that comes from helping others and puts their faith into action. Through their outreach requirement, students will be exposed to different aspects of society in order to “graduate socially aware, morally responsible, [and be] prepared to succeed and to serve their local and global communities.”

Be hospitable to one another without complaining. As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s grace (1 Peter 4:9-10). “

Goals of Service

The Christian Service Program strives to:

  • Find the joy that comes from helping others by sharing their own gifts and talents.
  • Develop a sense of passion for justice by understanding different aspects of society and reflecting on their impact.
  • Put faith into action and live out Jesus' message.
  • Serve so it no longer feels like service; it is not an obligation, but a way of life.
  • Fulfill the mission to "graduate socially aware, morally responsible citizens prepared to succeed and to serve their local and global communities" by first participating in those communities.
