State Champions! Girls Basketball Wins Div. 3 MIAA State Championship

The Archbishop Williams Girls Basketball team soundly defeated Hoosac 69-46 at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA to take home the MIAA Div. 3 State Championship.

Seniors Alana Gilmer, Jaylen Williams and Tayler Wornum all recorded double-digits in rebounds as the Lady Bishops out rebounded Hoosac 48-16.  This advantage off the glass proved to be the story of the game as Archbishop Williams managed to secure an 8 point lead at halftime, which grew to a commanding 21 point lead at the end of three quarters.

Gilmer lead Archbishop Williams in scoring finishing her career at AWHS with a double-double and 18 points, Junior Katryna Veasey added 11 points and Williams finished with 10 points and a double-double in her final game as a Bishop.

This is the 2nd State Championship in three years and the 5th State Championship overall for the Lady Bishops, winning in 1996, 2007, 2008, 2013 and 2015.

Congratulations to Coach Matt Mahoney and his Staff for a job very well done!
