AWHS to Host “Summer at Williams”

New summer enrichment programs will enhance and provide exciting new learning opportunities for all students

BRAINTREE, MA - Archbishop Williams, a Catholic, co-educational high school serving grades 7 to 12, is proud to announce its first annual Summer at Williams program, a series of summer enrichment courses taught by award-winning AWHS faculty members in several different and distinctive subjects.

“We are excited to embark on this new venture, and I am looking forward to the many unique opportunities we are planning to offer this summer,” notes Christopher Brunner, AWHS math teacher and newly named Director of Summer Programs. “It’s the first time AWHS has been able to offer something of this scale and diversity.”

Summer at Williams will offer 15 courses in a wide range of areas, from bioethics to acapella and from engineering graphics to local Braintree/Quincy history. There are also SAT and HSPT prep courses for students preparing for these critical exams. All courses will be taught by AWHS faculty and are geared towards students who are interested in exploring new subjects or improving their skills in a small classroom setting of 5-15.

Although similar programs generally cost more than $1,000, affordability was an important piece in the planning process, remarks Brunner. “With many of our courses going for as low as $200, including our test preparation courses, it gives families the opportunity to enhance their learning at a reasonable price,” he notes, adding that courses will be open to both AWHS students as well as those not currently a part of the AWHS community.

“I am thrilled that Chris Brunner has agreed to lead our initial “Summer at Williams” program, commented AWHS President Dennis M. Duggan, Jr., Esq. ‘70. “He has brought an unequaled level of intellectual vitality and energy to our School which I am confident will be reflected in this Program. I recommend it highly.”
