Art Lovers: AWHS French and Spanish students went to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston on Friday as a culmination of units studying the great paintings of their respective cultures.
Mid-Quarterly Reports on Tuesday
Our mid-quarterly reports go live on Tuesday. Please check PowerSchool on that date for updated grades and comments by your child’s teachers. If a child is not satisfied with his or her academic performance, now is the time to take action before the Christmas break.

Mass on Friday 10 AM
This Friday we will have our next All-School Mass to celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day of Opportunity. Mass is at 10 AM and everyone in our community is warmly invited to attend. Students are reminded to be in Mass Dress.

Tryouts Just About Over
We had a record turnout for winter sports tryouts this week. There are still a few spots on teams to be determined.  Congratulations to everyone who made a squad and will don the blue and gold this season!

If you have a question about a decision made in a particular program, the best conversation is to first have your child talk to the coach of the program, then to move up to a parent conversation with the coach before reaching out to the Athletic Director. If a child did not make a particular sports team, there are still no-cut options in Winter Track and Swimming.
Looking forward to watching our Bishops in action all winter!
A+ Pizza: Students who made the Principal's List (grades above 90 in all their classes for Q1) enjoyed pizza with Dr. V. on Thursday.
AWHS Spirit Shop—Open Through Sunday
The AWHS Spiritwear Store is open through Sunday! Now is your last chance to get the snazzy Adidas items (school approved or otherwise). The shop closes on December 3 so act fast! Click here to go to the store.

Calendar Drive Update
The Calendar Drive concluded today. We are still doing the final tallying to see if we reached our schoolwide goals. It definitely came down to the wire because as late as Wednesday numerous students had not yet sold a calendar.
We will be collecting final sales Monday during Homeroom. On Wednesday, we will be asking students who did not sell all of their calendars to return them in Homeroom. All calendars must be accounted for—sold or unsold.
If you still would like to purchase an additional calendar, you may do so online on our website.
Thank you to everyone who supported the school through the calendar drive!

Junior Retreat Prayers
Twenty-eight members of our Junior class depart for the woods of New Hampshire Sunday morning for our first Junior overnight retreat at AWHS in decades. Please keep them in your prayers and we wish them all well on retreat.

Junior/Senior Semiformal
The Junior/Senior Semi-Formal will be held on Friday December 8 at the Tirrell Room in Quincy. Tickets are on sale at all three lunches.  They are $30 each through lunch on Monday. Ticket prices will increase to $40 on Tuesday-Thursday. You can pay with cash or check made payable to AWHS.
If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Stephanie Mariano ’08.
MVP: Athletic Director Gordie McClay hands senior Tom Veasey the MVP award from the 2017 Gravy Bowl. Veasey's dominance on defense secured our third straight win over Spellman on Thanksgiving.
Stocking Stuffers
In addition to the items for sale on the spiritwear shop, we have a couple of other stocking stuffers that you can buy directly from the Main Office. We have for sale AWHS winter hats and official school ties. Each can be purchased for $25, cash or check made out to Archbishop Williams. Get them while they last!

Christmas Tree Sales
The AWHS Christmas Tree sale is underway. If you need a live tree, there’s no better place to buy it than in the AWHS Student Parking Lot. This sale is the major fundraiser run by the Parent Support Board and your support means everything!

Save the Date: Christmas Revels Wed, December 14
On Wednesday, December 14, we will have our annual Christmas Revels celebration in the Cafeteria at 5:30 PM. Come and enjoy some hot cocoa, Christmas cookies, crafts, and take pictures with St. Nick himself.
After the Revels, we will have our annual Christmas Concert at 7:00 PM
HSPT & ISEE Testing Tomorrow Morning
AWHS will be hosting the HSPT and ISEE testing tomorrow morning at 8 AM. If you know anyone that should be an Archbishop Williams student next year for Grades 7, 8, 9 and are not signed up, let them know that we can accommodate walk-ins. Good luck to anyone in our extended community taking the test tomorrow.
And Lastly: O Come, O Come Emmanuel
Advent starts this Sunday. This is a joyous season in anticipation of the birth of our Savior—and we are getting the school into the holiday spirit.  May it be filled with abundance for you and your family.
As always, if there is anything we can do to better serve you or your child, do not hesitate to ask. There has never been a better time to be a Bishop!

Thanksgiving is About Family: The entire community--family--of Archbishop Williams came out to let everyone know that there has never been a better time to be a Bishop, especially when facing a certain school in Brockton.

Archbishop Williams High School is an independent, Catholic, college preparatory, grades 7-12 school. We endeavor to educate young men and women spiritually, intellectually, ethically, and physically. Driven by the love of Christ, in the tradition of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, we integrate learning with faith. We strive to graduate socially aware, morally responsible citizens prepared to succeed and to serve their local and global communities.
