Archbishop Williams High School hires Peter J. Umbrianna as Assistant Director of Athletics.
Archbishop Williams High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Peter J. Umbrianna as its Associate Director of Athletics. Umbrianna attended Duxbury High School and Quinnipiac University where he was a three-sport varsity athlete in Baseball, Basketball and Football.
Umbrianna received a B.A. in Communications from Quinnipiac University and an M.S. in Athletic Administration from Ohio University. While as a graduate student, Umbrianna developed the skills needed to run a highly successful athletic department as he received a CAA (Certified Athletic Administrator) Certification with the NIAAA (National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association).
Most recently, Umbrianna worked as a member of the Hingham High School Athletics Department where he was an Assistant Girls Varsity Basketball Coach and at Cohasset High School as the Head Freshman Football Coach. While at Hingham High, he was one of just 30 athletics professionals in the state selected to attend the 29th Annual M.I.A.A. Leadership Training Institute.
Umbrianna is an active member of the community, having been involved with Best Buddies of Massachusetts.
“Coach Umbrianna will bring great leadership and departmental support to AWHS Athletics. Pete has a strong background in Facility and Game Management and we look forward to his involvement as an important member of our Athletics Staff,” said AWHS Athletic Director Gordie McClay. McClay added, “We are excited to welcome Coach Umbrianna to AWHS and we look forward to seeing him contribute to the success of Bishops Athletics.”
Umbrianna stated, “I am very excited and humbled to be the Assistant Athletic Director and Phys. Ed teacher at Archbishop Williams High School. I look forward to working with our student-athletes as they continue to set high standards for athletics and leadership at AWHS. Go Bishops!!”
