Campus Ministry

The Campus Ministry program is guided by the values of worship, service, and reflection.  with these values, we seek to nurture growth in faith and build community.  The program focuses on the communal life and prayer life of the Archbishop Williams High School family.  As a Catholic school, our faith is integrated in all that we do.  However, at times, this faith is expressed more directly through Masses and other forms of worship.  Although students are not required to actively participate in religious services, all students are expected to attend and be respectful.

Retreat Opportunities

All students are required to attend their class retreat each year.  These retreats are an important way for classes to come together in prayer and build community.  These retreats are the length of the school day and may take place on and off campus.  Junior and Senior classes also have the opportunity to participate in an optional overnight class retreat during the year.

Grade 7 -- CONNECT

On this retreat, students learn the values of trust, forgiveness, and finding God in all things as they connect with their classmates and their friends through small group discussions and activities.

Grade 8 -- JOURNEY

Through this retreat, students come to know the importance of being yourself and having faith.  Students share about their encounters and experiences and how they can make a commitment to themselves, the world, their neighbors, and God as they continue on their journey into high school.

Grade 9 -- DISCOVER

The retreat allows the students to begin to form lasting relationships with their new classmates and gives them a chance to get to know one another outside of the classroom.  Through small group activities the students practice critical thinking skills, decision making, faith sharing while discovering their place at AWHS.

Grade 10 -- FELLOWSHIP

This retreat focuses on self-esteem, self-worth, how to treat one another with dignity and respect; this retreat is a day of community building and fellowship for the sophomore class.

Grade 11 -- STORM

The retreat allows the students to begin to look at themselves as leader by looking at themselves to see whether they have the ability and how the values of Trust, Courage, and Faith play a role in overcoming our doubts and fears.  Students complete various exercises/challenges to help them foster these values and  participate in small group discussions.

Grade 12 -- I AM

The retreat allows the students to begin to look at themselves as leader by looking at themselves to see whether they have the ability and how the values of Trust, Courage, and Faith play a role in overcoming our doubts and fears.  Students complete various exercises/challenges to help them foster these values and  participate in small group discussions.

THE INSPIRE RETREAT

In the fall and spring, the AWHS student and faculty community hike a mountain or terrain in New Hampshire.  While hiking to the top, the group stops at various times for prayer and reflection. Students of all grades are welcome to participate in this experience.
