Campus Ministry

On this retreat, students learn the values of trust, forgiveness, and finding God in all things as they connect with their classmates and their friends through small group discussions and activities.

Through this retreat, students come to know the importance of being yourself and having faith.  Students share about their encounters and experiences and how they can make a commitment to themselves, the world, their neighbors, and God as they continue on their journey into high school. 

The retreat allows the students to begin to form lasting relationships with their new classmates and gives them a chance to get to know one another outside of the classroom.  Through small group activities the students practice critical thinking skills, decision making, faith sharing while discovering their place at AWHS.

This retreat focuses on self-esteem, self-worth, how to treat one another with dignity and respect; this retreat is a day of community building and fellowship for the sophomore class. 

The retreat allows the students to begin to look at themselves as leader by looking at themselves to see whether they have the ability and how the values of Trust, Courage, and Faith play a role in overcoming our doubts and fears.  Students complete various exercises/challenges to help them foster these values and  participate in small group discussions.
