Social Studies Department
The primary goals of the Social Studies Department, as part of a Christian, college-preparatory program, are to help our students develop an awareness and concern for all people, and to become responsible citizens in a democratic society.
Objectives
- To examine historical and sociological events in light of moral values.
- To help students develop the skills necessary to think, read, write, and analyze effectively.
- To encourage students to develop the ability to think critically.
- To prepare students to meet the ethical, social, economic, and technological challenges that face them in today’s world and in the future.
Graduation Requirements
Successful completion of three years of Social Studies. Must include both U.S. History 1 and 2.
