FALL 2009 

Highlights:

  • The Football Cheerleading Team won the Division 4 South Regional Competition and the Catholic Central League Competition!
  • The Boys Varsity Soccer Team qualified for the state tournament and won three tourney games to advance to the Division 3 South Sectional Semifinals.
  • Brendan Greene '10 of the Boys' Varsity Golf Team participated in the Catholic Central League Golf Championship.  The Boys Varsity Golf Team earned an MIAA Gold Academic Excellence Award.
  • Erica Gagnon '11 set the course record at the 3.1 mile course at Pond Meadow Park (20:02) for the Girls Cross Country Team.  Erica also placed 6th at the State Coaches Meet (19:37) and 11th at the State Class Meet (21:20).
  • Brian Sullivan'12 set the course record at the 3.1 mile course at Pond Meadow Park (20:02) for the Boys  Cross Country Team.
  • Kelsey McCarthy '11 of the Girls Varsity Soccer Team named an Eastern Mass. All-Star.
  • The Varsity Volleyball Team qualified for the state tournament.  The team defeated Cape Cod Voc. 3-0 in the 1st Round before falling to Sacred Heart (3-1) in the Sectional Quarterfinals.
  • Alex Furtado '11 of the Varsity Football Team was named a finalist for the MIAA Student-Athlete of the Month Award for October 2009.

SPRING 2009  

2009 Girls Lacrosse 

  

Highlights:

  • (Pictured above) The senior members of the Girls Varsity Lacrosse team prepare to give flowers to their parents at their last home game of the season. The team also qualified for the MIAA state tournament.
  •  All 10 AWHS Spring Sports Teams earned MIAA Academic Excellence Awards!
  • The Boys Varsity Lacrosse team qualified for the MIAA state tournament
  • The Varsity Baseball team qualified and won three MIAA tournament games to advance to the South Sectional Semifinals!  The Freshmen Baseball Taam turned a triple play against Cardinal Spellman.
  • Sophomores Alex Furtado and Erica Gagnon qualified for the State Class Meet!  Alex Furtado set the school record in the 200-meter race with a time of 22.82 seconds.  Freshmen Michaela Flanagan was named Outstanding Performer at the CCL Freshmen-Sophomore meet.

WINTER 2008-2009

  
2008-2009 Girls Basketball 

Highlights:

  • (Pictured above) The Girls Varsity Basketball team celebrated their 40-37 win over Cardinal Spellman in the Div. 3 South Sectional championship game.  The girls advanced to play in the EMASS Finals at the TD Bank North Garden.  Val Driscoll '10 surpassed 1,000 points in her career.
  • 13 AWHS Winter sports teams earned MIAA Academic Excellence Awards!
  • The Basketball Cheerleading Team finished as the Division 4 South Regional Finalists and qualified for the State Competition.
  • Senior indoor track team member Akilah Mateen was awarded the John Bosanquet Award by the Tri County League. The Bosanquet Award is given annually to a student who represents his/her school's spirit and mission and who demonstrates strong character and is committed to community service.
  • Swimmer Jill Connors '10 placed in the 100 meter breaststroke at the Catholic Central League Meet and qualified for the Sectional Meet.
