Funderburk has held the position of Academic Dean at Archbishop Williams for the past eight years; prior to that post she was a Chemistry teacher at AWHS for ten years. As Academic Dean she increased the number of elective and AP offerings for students at Archbishop Williams in addition to establishing a freshmen study skills program.
“My experience as Academic Dean afforded me the privilege of working closely with students, parents, teachers and administration to help ensure the academic success of all students,” said Funderburk. “I look forward to the challenges of my role as Assistant Principal and gladly embrace this new opportunity.”
A graduate of Rosemont College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry, Funderburk received her Masters in Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton.
“I have never met an educator who loves students and academia more than Jane Funderburk does – she is every student’s champion,” said Dr. Carmen Mariano, President of AWHS. “Having Jane as our Academic Dean was a gift; having her as our Assistant Principal will be a blessing.”
