BRAINTREE, MA, ISSUED NOVEMBER 30, 2009...Archbishop Williams High School, a leading Catholic co-educational college preparatory high school located in Braintree, announces that for the first time ever, its Football Cheerleading Team recently won the South Regional Division 4 Competition. In addition to placing first in the Regional Championship, the cheerleading team also recently won the Catholic Central League Competition for the first time in school history.
The honors continued on Nov. 22 when the team placed 3rd in the Division 4 State Competition, the team's "best finish in the program's history," according to Joseph Francis, Athletic Director for Archbishop Williams High School. "We applaud all the fine athletes who comprise the football cheerleading team; they have given the entire school much to cheer about!" said Dr. Carmen Mariano, President of AWHS.
