Goals:
To allow students to develop their mathematical skills to the best of their ability and to give each student the prerequisites needed to succeed at higher level mathematics.
Objectives:
Inherent in all math courses are opportunities for students:
- to develop their ability to think in a logical and systematic manner.
- to develop their problem solving ability.
- to help them learn to analyze real-world applications
- to have them solve related problems and to generalize conclusions
- to appropriately challenge them through multiple levels of instructions.
The Mathematics Departments frequently evaluates and adjusts its course offerings, course content and textbooks to meet the ongoing needs of our present students. Technology is incorporated into instruction at all levels.
Requirements:
Each student who graduates from Archbishop Williams High School is required to successfully complete four years of mathematics.
