This Star Won't Go Out
The faculty and staff highlighted several summer projects for particular merit to be shared with our community. All students in the school read This Star Won't Go Out over the summer. Students in Grades 7 and 8 had to design a movie poster for a possible movie version of the book. Students in Grades 9-12 had the option to either write or film responses to the following prompts:
- Debate the merit of reading literature about sick children, so called "sick-lit"
- Compare relationships developed online to relationships developed in real life
- Compose a euology for Esther Grace Earl
There were more outstanding projects than we have shared here. Our students, on balance, did nice work with their summer assignment.
