All of the Archbishop Williams High School spring sports teams had an exciting and challenging spring sports season, and all were awarded recognition by the MIAA for Academic Excellence! A special note goes to the Boys Baseball team and the Girls Track and Field team.
The boys baseball team won the Eastern Mass Division 4 championship - the state semi-final - when it defeated Lowell Catholic 9-4. The team advanced to the state final against St. Mary's Parish of Westfield at Holy Cross. The Bishops provided tough competition, but ended with a 5-3 loss. The last state championship win was in 1995, so reaching the state final again this year was quite an accomplishment!

For the Girls Spring Track team, congratulations for going undefeated in the regular season, and for being the Catholic Central League champions!
"We are very proud of both of our track team performances this spring," said Athletic Director Gordie McClay. "We are especially proud of our girls first ever CCLtitle. They have worked extremely hard. Our senior leadership stepped up and did a great job of pushing our athletes. Coach Van Dorpe and his staff did an exceptional job with both teams this year and their hard work paid off."
Special notes: girls baseball pitcher Kyleigh O'Donnell '17 earned her 1000th strikeout during the Bishops Division Two South Sectional Final Victory against Hanover, 3-0; girls lacrosse player Sharon Doherty '17 broke the school record for points, finishing with a career total of 401 points; Anand Panigrahy ’17 and Erica Silvia '18 participated in the Massachusetts State Track and Field Championship.
