BRAINTREE, MA. (April 1, 2016) – Archbishop Williams High School has announced theatre students from grades 7-12 to star in “Bye Bye Birdie” opening April 8 and running two nights. Both shows will be at 7:00 p.m. and will be held in the Archbishop Williams High School Auditorium. Tickets are $8 pre-sale at the School’s main office or can be purchased at the door for $10.

“Bye Bye Birdie” is one of the most captivating musical shows of our time. It is a musical comedy crafted with the fondest affection telling the story of a rock and roll singer who is about to be inducted into the Army. This is the tops in imagination and good old-fashioned fun.

Archbishop Williams’ “Bye Bye Birdie” stars Freshman Sebastian Joseph (Randolph) as President of Almaelou Music Corp. Albert Peterson. Sophomore Olivia McDonnell (Quincy) plays Rose Alvarez, Albert’s secretary.  Senior Andrew McDonnell (Quincy) stars as Rock Star Conrad Birdie. Junior Jason Pinto (Brockton) stars as Mr. Harry MacAfee and Sophomore Anna Egan (Randolph) as Mrs. Doris MacAfee. Junior Hannah Cunniff (Quincy) stars as Kim MacAfee and 7th Grader Paul White (Braintree) as her brother, Randolph MacAfee.  Seniors Yasmine Sudhu (Quincy) playing Ursula Merkle and Jonathan Hamilton (East Bridgewater) playing Hugo Peabody, round out the principal cast.

"We are very excited to be bringing “Bye Bye Birdie” to Archbishop Williams this Spring,” exclaimed Katie Frossard, AWHS' Director of Grade 7&8 and also the Musical’s Director and Producer.  "We expect a fun and family friendly entertaining show, hope to see you there!”
