Braintree, MA – Archbishop Williams High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. James Dolan as its Head Baseball Coach.
Well known and respected in the local baseball community, Dolan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Bishops. He previously served as head Baseball Coach at Weymouth High School and Lasell College (NCAA D.3). Dolan has also been involved with coaching at the Rockland Junior Legion, Akadema Razorbacks and owning/managing the Rockland Shamrock AAU Baseball Club.
“Coach Dolan is a proven professional with demonstrated results in coaching, student-athlete development and program building,” said AWHS Athletic Director Gordie McClay. McClay added, “We are excited to welcome Coach Dolan, thrilled by his commitment to success and look forward to his positive impact on our student-athletes.”
AWHS President Dennis M. Duggan, Jr., Esq. ’70 commented, “We thank former coach, alum and player Pat Clifford for his stellar service to our baseball program. We are most fortunate indeed that Jim Dolan, a proven leader of young men and an experienced and successful baseball coach is taking the reins and will build on our proud tradition of baseball excellence at Williams.”
Dolan has a strong connection to AWHS. He is currently an Assistant Basketball Coach for the Bishops and his son, James, a sophomore, is a student-athlete.
Dolan attended Weymouth North High School where he was the Captain of the Baseball team. He received his BS from Bridgewater State University and MS from Concordia University. Dolan is a member of the faculty teaching Physical Education at Weymouth High School.
Dolan stated, “I am honored by the chance to join the outstanding athletic department at AWHS. Coach Clifford has built an outstanding program and I look forward to this opportunity. I am excited to work with Assistant Coach Barney Earle and I am grateful to Mr. Duggan, Dr. V, Coach McClay and the AWHS administration for the faith they have put in me. As a family we are so blessed to be a part of the AWHS community and the spring season can’t come soon enough!”
Coach Dolan lives in Rockland with his wife Laurie and their three sons, James, Connor, and Aidan.
