Archbishop Williams High School has announced theatre students from grades 7-12 will present “Crazytown” by Jonathan Rand on three consecutive nights, opening Thursday, December 10. All three shows will start at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Tickets are $10 a piece and can be purchased at the door or pre-sale at the School’s main office.

Crazytown takes the audience on a tour of the most messed up town in America, from the police interrogation room where the nicest guy in town is issued a strange ultimatum, to the elementary school for a heated political debate on critical issues like tater tots. Welcome to Crazytown, where our motto is: Welcome to Crazytown.

Under permission of Jonathan Rand, Archbishop Williams will be presenting a shortened version for the whole family. “Crazytown” is produced by special arrangement with Playscripts Inc. (www.playscripts.com).

Archbishop Williams’ “Crazytown” features powerful performances by Seniors Kat Pumphrey (Weymouth) and Hannah Cunniff (Quincy) who play news anchors; Katie McDermott (Scituate), Nick Mariani (Weymouth) and Emily Fleming (Weymouth) as elementary school class president candidates; Sarah Golden (Quincy) and Sebastien Joseph (Randolph) as sportscasters; and Brianna Roy (Braintree) – as the lead detective investigating a Crazytown citizen, Aiden Benedetti (Weymouth), who is just “too nice."

"We are excited about bringing “Crazytown” to Archbishop Williams," commented Katie Frossard, AWHS' Director of Grade 7&8 and the musical’s Co-Director and Producer.  "Involving students in Grades 7-12 in this production allows us to engage the entire school and to continue and build on the success of Archbishop Williams Theatre Ensemble.” Theology Teacher, Co-Director and Producer Mrs. Angela Lawlor added, “We have been working hard and we are all looking forward to entertaining the Archbishop Williams community this holiday season, hope to see you there!”

Archbishop Williams Theatre Ensemble puts on two productions a year, generally one drama and one musical.  Last spring, the Ensemble presented Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.”
